AN INFORMAL EMAIL

Hi Paco.

I'm really sorry for not writing earlier, but I have been very busy correcting exams in my high school.

I had a nice time during the week that I was in London with you. Your flat was small, but it was very nice, because it has been decorated in a very good style. It also had great views of the Thames river.

I need to tell you that London is a fantastic city; it's the most beautiful city I've ever been to. I also, met an old dream: I got on a double-decker bus.

Your compnay was great, too. I remembered Patrick's Pub and its friendly waitress called Tina. She was an intelligent girl and very hard-working, and there, beers were splendid, of course.

I won't forget our visits to monuments, as the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey. I enjoyed myself very much with the Westminster Abbey organ sound and the wonderful Chapter house.

Thanks for everything. And I hope to hear from you soon.

CHRISTMAS CARD 2014

Before Christmas we made a funny activity: making a Christmas card for a classmate. This is the card that I made for Pilar:

SPEED DATING IN CHIRIVELLAND

Speed dating is a formalized dating system whose purpose is to encourage people to meet a large number of new people. The first speed dating event took place at Peet's Café in Beverly Hills in late 1998.

Imitating this system last class before Christmas our teacher proposed the activity "Speed Dating in Chirivelland". In a relaxed atmosphere (beer, refreshments, chips) we practiced the language of Shakespeare in a fun way.

Here are some questions that I made:

ESSAY ABOUT "THE FISHERMAN AND HIS SOUL" BY OSCAR WILDE

 

 

      Oscar Wilde (1.854-1.900) wrote two collections of fairy tales for his sons. One of these was "The Fisherman and his Soul".

      The tale is about a Young fisherman that one day catches a Little mermaid in his net. The fisherman fell in love with the mermaid, and he wanted to marry her. But he had a problem: he had to send his soul awaqy to marry the little mermaid.

 

      The fisherman went to visit a witch to solve his problem. She told him the secret. From this moment, the Soul appears as second major carácter in the story.

 

      The soul traveled and she found wisdom, riches, but it also did bad things. The sound offered all that to the fisherman. But the fisherman prefered the love of the mermaid. So the soul came back to the fisherman's body.

 

      After that, the little mermaid and the fisherman (with his soul) were killed by the sea. The church priest ordered to bury both of them in the corner of "The Field of Fullers". Three years later the priest saw some strange flowers on the altar which came from the "Field of the Fullers". The next morning he blessed the sea, and all the wild things in it. But the people of the sea went to another part of the sea, and they never came back,

 

      This story can be recommended to all publics, and proposes different topics. Undoubtedly the main theme is that love is more important tan anything else. But there are more things (or ideas).
